What is your Mindset?

TeachIdaho completed an 8 week study on the book, Mindset, with 150 teachers throughout the state.  Mindsets can be fixed or growth.  They are distinguished by the way in which people make difficult decisions.  These can be summed up in the following ways:

Challenges:  Fixed--Avoids; Growth-Embraces

Obstacles: Fixed--Gives up easily; Growth--Persists in face of setbacks

Effort:  Fixed--sees effort as futile (if you don't know it already, why try); Growth--Effort is the path to mastery

Critique: Fixed--Ignores negative criticism; Growth--Critique is Learning opportunity

Success of Others: Fixed-Threatened by other's success; Growth--Finds lessons and inspiration from other's success

I will be posting some of the most informative comments from teacher's who participated in this study.  Hopefully, you will read the book.  I am entertaining running the same study for interested participants next fall.  Stay Tuned.
