At Teach Idaho, our passion is education and those professionals responsible for teaching the next generation of Americans.

 Who We Are

The founders of TeachIdaho are Sallie Herrold, Liza Long and Kali Kurdy. In addition to the founders, TeachIdaho relies on an Advisory board comprised of teachers and industry leaders to help guide and direct the foundation through the issues facing Idaho’s education system in the coming years.

Sallie Herrold

Sallie Herrold brings significant experience with Idaho’s charter schools, and was instrumental in organizing the construction of North Star Charter School in Eagle.  As a School Board Member for a number of years, she has a firm understanding of the complex relationship between school administrators, teachers and parents.

Kali Kurdy

Kali Kurdy taught in public schools for 33 years.  A recipient of the National Economics Teaching Award by NASDAQ, Kali pioneered an economic simulation called the International Economic Summit, which has been used extensively in Idaho for many years.  The simulation is currently leased by two regional Federal Reserve Banks in the US, who have used it as an international trade teaching tool in the states they service.  Summits take place in many states and annually in China, where they have been part of a cultural and academic exchange tool.  As a mentor teacher in Boise schools, Kali brings a wealth of knowledge, as well as a background in curriculum development to TeachIdaho.  A career teacher and advocate, Kali hopes to help create professional Learning Communities in the state.
